Gwestyr Emlyn - Taste of Weddings. This second fabulous event held by Diwrnod Perffaith Wedding Planners was yet again a  huge success. A wedding fayre with a twist, this time guests were treated to a 3 course meal, tables lovingly decorated as though you are at a wedding, fashion shows and live music.

We took centre stage with our Bridal Show with bridal gowns, bridesmaids, mother of the brides & millinery collections. The models, hairdressers and makeup artist did a fantastic job & really showed our gowns off to their full potential. We couldnt do it without their help & support each time.

The most exciting part of the evening was, of course, the awards ceremony itself. With the regional winners being announced first, we were over the moon to win ”Best New Wedding Business in West Wales” – not bad considering we’ve only been open for just over a year & a half! We were clearly sat in the right place as we had more amazing award winning talent on our table!! Sheer Elegance for Wedding Stationary & Owen Howells for photography. And then they announced the national winners for the whole of Wales & we WON!! Best New Wedding Business in Wales 2011!!!

But none of this would be possible without our fantastic brides, bridesmaids & everyone who took the time out & voted for us. So from all of us at the Bridal Studio - a massive, massive thank you to everyone who voted for us, it really means so much to have made a mark on the wedding industry in West Wales in this short space of time.

In June 2011 we were privileged to be asked to appear on Series 5 of BBC3’s Don’t Tell the Bride program! This crazy program involves the groom organising the whole wedding without the bride knowing a single thing about it!! The grooms are given £12,000 to organise the entire day in just 3 weeks, whilst having no contact whatsoever with his bride-to-be. 

We met fisherman Harry & best man Tuttle at our shop in Carmarthen, and what ensued was 5 hours of crazy filming, hysterical laughter and eventually a sale of one of our gorgeous Paloma Blanca gowns. (style 4062 in case you’re interested!)

A week later, bride Mellissa, along with her mother & sister arrived at the shop....and the most nervewracking moment of my life – the unveiling (excuse the wedding pun!) of the dress! She was dubious to begin with, but once she had the gorgeous silk dress on (complete with pockets), she loved it! And importantly, her sister Sam & mum loved it too! We also had a few tears from Sam J

Then cue a frantic seamstress session (in house!), dress back on, perfect fit & that was it.

Months later, it aired at 9pm on Tuesday the 4^th of October on BBC3 and it was one of the funniest, dirtiest episodes I have ever seen!
